Sectional RIB Collar

Rigid Collar

The rubber or foam collar systems we use are more resilient to wear and tear and maintenance free. These collars are sectioned and replaceable if any individual section becomes damaged.

The foam elastomer collar systems, which is lightweight, but very durable is typically bonded to the hulls of our vessels – but can be mechanically fixed if so required.
The inside of the fender is made of elastic polyethylene foam, which provides the energy absorption. This core is then coated in protective marine-grade polyurethane (PU) – either via spraying or via moulding. Depending upon the application, we can vary the materials we use (ie the density of the foam, the material properties of the PU and the mesh reinforcement system) to provide the ideal combination for each specific project. It is light compared to rubber tubing (from 3kg/m), therefore minimising hull weight and boosting vessel performance in projects where speed and mobility are vital.
It cannot be punctured, unlike inflatable RIB collars, so it is ideal in situations where pneumatic collars are perceived to be too much of a risk or the craft will encounter hazardous impacts and come alongside sharp surfaces.
