TPM 1450 Interceptor
Aluminium twin-waterjet interceptor, 50+ knots with 14 on board
Over 50 knots fully loaded, built for 60 knots and 6 G
The flagship of the MIL Series: a 14.2 m open interceptor in marine-grade aluminium, designed by naval architects specialising in ultra-fast craft. Its deep-V, hard-chine hull is proven offshore, with predictable and forgiving handling at every speed.
Twin Cummins QSM11 diesels (2 × 705 hp) drive Rolls-Royce FF-series mixed-flow waterjets with integrated interceptor trim control. With standard production diesels it exceeds 50 knots at full load, cruises at 35 knots and has a range of 350 nm, so it can respond quickly to interdict illegal activity anywhere in its area of operation.
The hull runs at full speed in sea state 2–3 with reasonable crew comfort, and a skilled helmsman can operate it effectively up to sea state 4–5. Fourteen Ullman Biscaya suspension seats carry the crew and boarding team, a 3.7 m aft deck supports boarding, SAR and helicopter transfers, and a hybrid foam/pneumatic collar protects the hull alongside.

Hull & deck
Single-skin 6 mm plating below the chine and 3 mm sides, stiffened with longitudinal and transverse top-hat extrusions, with 4 mm bulkheads. The keel and stem are reinforced for boat-to-boat contact and beaching. The one-piece deck is bonded and riveted to the frames; the aft deck over the engine room is stiffened to carry an inflatable boat, cargo or personnel landed by helicopter.
Deck arrangement
Forward console with Lexan windscreen, grab rail and a foldable arch for radar and antennas, ergonomically matched to two Ullman Biscaya jockey seats for helmsman and commander. Twelve more Ullman seats in four rows of three on removable bases that double as storage. The 3.7 m aft deck has a platform over the waterjets for recovering people from the water and a fold-away slide for launching a small inflatable.
Propulsion & systems
Each Cummins QSM11 is run in for at least four hours on a dynamometer. Water-injected exhausts with anti-ingress flaps, extractor fans with a ten-minute run-on, three baffled integral fuel tanks with water-trap pre-filters and a valve manifold, electric and hand bilge pumps for every space, and a fully sound-insulated engine compartment with a single weather-tight hatch for vertical engine removal.
Trials & warranty
Every craft is inclined and sea-trialled before delivery, with speed, manoeuvring and stopping tests recorded, and trialled again in the customer’s waters at handover. A 60-month warranty on workmanship and equipment, with engines and waterjets covered by their manufacturers.
