Hurricane ALU 11.5 Police
Twin-waterjet aluminium police RIB with enclosed wheelhouse
Twin Hamilton jets, 40 knots and 1,250 litres of range
The largest Hurricane so far: an 11.5 m police RIB with a welded marine-aluminium hull and superstructure, a fully enclosed wheelhouse and a heavy-duty Hypalon collar.
Twin Yanmar 370 hp diesels drive two Hamilton 274 waterjets for a sprint speed of 40 knots, with the shallow draught, precise control and safety around people in the water that jets provide. A 1,250-litre fuel capacity gives the endurance for long patrols and offshore response.
The wheelhouse seats the crew in protected positions with all-round visibility, while a large aft working deck and transom tow post support boarding, towing and recovery work. The layout, equipment and livery are configured to the mission.

Why twin waterjets
Waterjets have no exposed propellers, which makes them safe around people in the water and allows operation in very shallow water. Twin jets give precise low-speed control for coming alongside, plus redundancy.
