Hurricane ALU K13 Coast Guard
Unsinkable aluminium patrol boat with wheelhouse, galley and berths
Over 38 knots, 260 nm range and a crew that can stay overnight
The flagship of the Hurricane series: a 12.9 m all-welded aluminium patrol boat for coast guard, customs and police duties in inland and coastal waters. Four watertight compartments and a foam-filled fender make it unsinkable, and a deep-V hull with a minimum 25° deadrise gives high seakeeping performance.
Twin Volvo Penta diesels (2 × 294 kW, 800 hp combined) drive Volvo Penta DPH Duoprop sterndrives with power trim, controlled by Volvo Penta EVC-D. Fully loaded it exceeds 38 knots, cruises at 25–28 knots for at least 10 hours and has a cruising range of 260 nautical miles; it holds 25 knots in sea state 4.
The wheelhouse has a 360° view, three Norsap shock-mitigating seats and an outside control post for beaching and coming alongside. Aft is a saloon with dining table, galley and work desk; down below are a berth and a wet cell with toilet and shower, so a crew of two can stay overnight and six people are seated comfortably.
