TP Marine launches the T2 explorer yacht tender

Built on our proven K11 hull, with three Volvo Penta IPS engines, 1,200 hp, over 50 knots and self-righting capability.

TP Marine has launched the T2, a new high-performance yacht tender project for an undisclosed customer. The T2 is designed for explorer-style yachting: long passages, remote anchorages and rough seas, where a tender has to be as capable as the mother ship.

The T2 is based on TP Marine’s successful K11 hull design, proven over many years in demanding professional service as patrol and crew boats. It combines the seakeeping of that deep-V hull with an enclosed, fully glazed wheelhouse, comfortable shock-mitigating helm seats and a modern glass-cockpit navigation suite.

Power comes from three Volvo Penta IPS engines of 400 hp each, 1,200 hp in total, giving the T2 a top speed of over 50 knots. IPS pod drives provide precise joystick manoeuvring alongside the yacht and in tight harbours, and the triple installation gives redundancy far from shore.

For safety in heavy weather, the T2 has self-righting capability: if the boat is ever capsized, it returns upright. Like every TP Marine boat, it is built to order and configured around the owner’s yacht, crew and cruising plans.
